we may recommend something different. Talk to us for the best recommendations when it comes to a pet
sterilization procedure.
The cost of a spay or neuter may vary according to your pet’s size, species, age, overall health condition, and
sex. Here at Pet First, we provide an all-inclusive package for spays and neuters including post-op checks. Please
call us to know more.
Our client care coordinators and/or the veterinarian will go over with you all the pre-op procedures. One
important thing to remember is to make sure you fast your pet the night before their surgery.
Yes, your pet will be under anesthesia during a spay or neuter surgery. This allows our veterinarians to perform the
procedure safely and keeps your pet comfortable all throughout.
We may or may not suggest a re-check. If you’re worried about the incision or surgical site, bring your pet in for a
complimentary recheck or you could also send us a picture to make sure things are healing appropriately.
During discharge, we’ll provide you with some personalized instructions to follow. In general, you’ll have to restrict
your pet’s activity for at least 10-14 days post-surgery. For dogs, this means short, controlled leash walks and other
activities that may affect the healing process. For cats, try to limit their movement and keep them from jumping or
playing.
Your pet should wear a cone (also known as an Elizabethan collar) at ALL times until the incision site is completely
healed. This is usually between 10-14 days. Without the cone, they may lick the spay incision site which will result
to skin infection or worst, remove the sutures which will result to opening up the incision site. If you observe that
your pet is not comfortable with the cone, we have medical pet shirts available as an alternative.
Healing period normally takes between 10-14 days.
No, bathing post-surgery is unsafe. Water, shampoos, and other grooming products could get inside the incision
that may impede the healing process. Swimming is also not allowed. If you feel your pet needs a bath, give us a call
and we’ll help you figure out the best way to clean them until they’re healed.
Weight gain post spay & neuter procedures does happen sometimes, but it can be due to a variety of causes
including the slowing of your pet’s metabolism as they mature from adolescence to adulthood. However, it’s
important to discuss proper weight management, feeding plans and other tips with your veterinarian to avoid
weight gain.
Spaying or neutering your pet can help him live a longer & healthier life. This also minimizes behavior problems,
less likely to get certain types of cancers and helps control the population of unwanted pets.
Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean.
A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth. Even the all-powerful Pointing has no control about the blind texts it is an almost unorthographic life One day however a small line of blind text by the name of Lorem Ipsum decided to leave for the far World of Grammar.
The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because there were thousands of bad Commas, wild Question Marks and devious Semikoli, but the Little Blind Text didn’t listen. She packed her seven versalia, put her initial into the belt and made herself on the way. When she reached the first hills of the Italic Mountains, she had a last view back on the skyline of her hometown Bookmarksgrove, the headline of Alphabet Village and the subline of her own road, the Line Lane.
Pityful a rethoric question ran over her cheek, then she continued her way. On her way she met a copy.
The copy warned the Little Blind Text, that where it came from it would have been rewritten a thousand times and everything that was left from its origin would be the word “and” and the Little Blind Text should turn around and return to its own, safe country.
